Athens and Santorini, Greece

The views of the Aegean sea are beautiful through sunny days and menacing clouds.

This is a print of my photograph taken at the edge of Oia.

David and I took a trip to Greece when we were dating. It was a present for his birthday which is something I look back fondly on, the ease of travel without children (I love them I swear)! Or when splurging on travel was easier. As my children get older I feel that urge to travel returning and Greece is a place I definitely want to take them to.

Photography was important to me on this trip but so was portability and ease of use. So I went with an older Fujifilm camera that was compact. I ended up taking some of my favorite photos in all of my years as a photographer. We spent a couple of days in Athens and then flew to the island of Santorini.

Santorini is so popular for all of the right reasons. It is so unique in structure and atmosphere. The color palette of the architecture naturally lives as a cohesive community. The views of the Aegean sea are beautiful through sunny days and menacing clouds. And the streets are winding mazes of discovery. This is why I have been so thankful to anyone who supports my prints from Greece. It is a place that breathes another world and has beauty like no other.
